reality tv
Taking a day out here in Washington.i’m doing the rear window thing as my window opens onto a modern courtyard with buildings on each side-apartments,offices and psycho work out rooms.
There is some activity-a lazy rain Sunday.
Not much to report!!
There is a lovely Japanese style pond built around the steps to ensure an aesthetic descent or ascent-depending on your direction.nice touch.
Water looks beautiful falling into other water
This last run since Detroit and through boston,Scranton, philly, And of course ,new york was madness as always.
The buzz of the city warms me up like a bright midday sun We’ve been having a blast really and today is the quiet Steam day with some light conversation and perhaps a movie to come.
The funny thing about ny is that for a quiet night/drink after the show means you get in at 5.then having to go sing on the radio.
Oh well all part of the experience.
I am blown away by the response of the crowds.i found it’s best to not take anything for granted so to be out there and playing like our lives depended on it and communicating with people, especially in these beautiful old buildings feels so intimate and overwhelming.
Don’t get me wrong I love the massive shows and they have a different quality to them, I guess we’ll be doing the shed tour in the summer sometime.
we hope you’ll be back with an army.
here’s a thought to all of you who say hi to us after the shows and before and at the hotels and stuff-well it’s cool to meet you and say hi and I know that just when you want to reach out and say something resonant and
Personal it can come out wrong ,if at all. worry not because I can see it in your eyes and that is what counts.
It’s all in the eyes.
what to do next??
I might go the bar downstairs, read a book, write an email, stand on my head, listen to brick layer cake-the new record whatchamaclalit-is awesome or look out over the courtyard.
The logical step forward from reality tv shows/the voyeur tv shows is just to watch out your window.
And hey this is Washington-there must be something going on worth watching!!!!you’d hope.
Actually it would be rude and invasive(+fun???) to stare into other people’s windows-like looking into their lives.
A bit like celebrity maybe!???!??the osbourne’s???funny show
But we ask for it-or at least the work part..anyhow
Enough of that..
Inflatable will be at radio maybe soon.i am scared for such a vulnerable song to go head to head with a bunch of the stuff they play at radio-could be a disaster.the jury is out.
If you love it could you let your station know-they might need your confidence.i do.
That’s why I’m a singer!!!!!!!!performers like acceptance and adulation like most of the planet.it is part of the psyche-the need for inclusion.it must be.we all want it.Musicians especially.praise is good though.
Complements work both ways.we all feel better.
That’s how come we work well together.
You and me.
