From hitsdailydouble:
Zuma Rock’s independently released new Bush album, The Sea of Memories, buoyed by its hit Rock single, “The Sound of Winter,” appears on track for 18-20k.
Not amazing sales, 30k would have been solid. Not a bomb either though, especially since it's independent. It's important that Gavin keeps writing radio hits though or they'll end up in obscurity like Filter. A point of comparison though would be last year's Hole album, Nobody's Daughter, the first Hole album since 1998's Celebrity Skin which sold 20k opening week (with a band full of lineup changes). The difference is the only single from that album, Skinny Little Bitch, peaked at number 22 on the rock charts while The Sound of Winter has done far better. While we all love Bush they never quite reached the legendary status/constant radio play even when broken up other 90's bands who are back together now like STP/AIC have, Bush are kind of lumped together with the whole post Grunge thing even though they were better than all of the post grunge bands.
