Nik Hughes Biography

Current Member – 2019-present

Nik Hughes is a professional drummer/percussionist. His passion for drums and percussion has taken him all across the world since his professional career began in 2000. He is currently performing with Bush, having just finished the Altimate 2019 tour alongside Live and Our Lady Peace.

Nik has played with many other amazing artists as well, including Bishop Briggs (Island), Youngblood Hawke (Republic), Andy Grammer (S-Curve), Emily Osment (Hannah Montana/Young&Hungry/Wind Up Records), Puddle of Mudd, Ty Taylor (Singer for Vintage Trouble), Iglu&Hartly (Mercury), Brightside, and Kevin Miso.

Nik is also the founder of Cardigan Recording Studios. Located in Pasadena, California, Cardigan studios is Nik’s remote recording drum facility. Nik has tracked drums for numerous records, and has a wide variety of recording gear and drums. 

Nik’s love for music has enabled him to work as a Musical Director for many of the artists he has performed with. In addition to Youngblood Hawke, Bishop Briggs, and Emily Osment, Nik has been the musical director for Mondo Cozmo (Republic), Between Friends (Sony Red), Markham (Razor and Tie), Charlotte Sabina (WME), Haley Pharo, and many more.

Nik currently endorses Vater Sticks and Percussion, DW Drums, Evans Drum Heads, and Zildjian Cymbals.
