Lyrics
we’re just a wish away
27th letter
much maligned
beat me clever
say you will
nevermind
open up
open wide
bonedriven
bonedriven
see we’re taking all the life
to all pollutants
shave your face
we’re all confusion
we’re all the rage
isolate
crowded out
all that’s left
inside out
maybe i can’t erase
all that’s left
inside out
heaven knows who walks away
heaven knows who walks
who walks
bonedriven
bonedriven
see we’re taking all the life
bonedriven
bonedriven
see we’re taking all the life
i was wrong and i will wait
i was wrong and i will i will wait
i was wrong and i will
i will
i will
wait
a thousand lamps
won’t lift the dark
rest of our lives
might have already passed
see we’re taking all the life
About The Song
wtf does that word mean?:
27th letter [metaphor] as in the 27th letter of the alphabet, wanting to comminutcate; about wanting more
maligned [tv.] to utter injuriously misleading or false reports about
bonedriven [n.] Bone (Guy Bone Johnson) was Bush’s bus driver & is now their security.
Band Thoughts:
‘It’s a wistful song….. So we literally were Bone-driven! But also, bone driven, to me, means that power that comes from the deepest part of you, from the bottom of you; your bones are as deep as you get, and what holds you together. It’s the most powerful image of yourself, your bones. If you’re scared to your bones, or if something gets to your bones, it’s beyond the realm of the superficial. ‘Bonedriven’ was really like that sense of walking in a hailstorm, just making it up to the top of that hill where there was a warm place to be. It was about us, about Bush, and about this whole thing we’re doing: ‘We’re all confusion, we’re all the rage’, which was perfect. Which means, it’s all right to be all confused.’- Gavin
“I don’t really have a favorite song but “BONE DRIVEN” is up there along with “LITTLE THINGS”. “- Bone
“So in the song ‘Bonedriven’ I use the word ‘Nevermind’ quite consciously, as it doesn’t come from Nirvana but from The Sex Pistols and ‘Never Mind The Bollocks’.”- Gavin
“I was doing the arrangement for ‘Bonedriven’ at home, and that part just developed into that, and I notated it down. The [string] section we got in was really good because it was a horrible piece to count, if you see the music it’s scary. I was really pleased when I actually heard them do it. It may seem like egos going silly to do things like that, but I just thought it was fun.”- Nigel
Staff Thoughts:
“If I were Bone I’d be honored. Just to have a song written about you is one thing, but for it to be this good is another.”- Laura
“This song is about Bush kicking Rolling Stone’s ass. The Bushmobile drives up to Rolling Stone HQ, and Bush kick some ass! No really, it’s a nice song, despite the fact that it sounds a lot like Glycerine (it’s a better song though.) Whoa, here come the crazy Gavin lovers! Gotta go!”- Brandyn
