In the midst of the mixed feeling I am seeing all over the web a positive review of the Bush sound emerges. From a July 3rd article posted on Beatweek Magazine’s website:

The new Bush single “Afterlife” won’t hit iTunes for another ten days, but Gavin Rossdale and the gang have posted a streaming version of the song to their website – which you have to log into with your Facebook account to hear. But fans of the band may find doing so to be well worth it, as Afterlife is instantly recognizable as being a Bush, but like Rossdale’s 2008 solo project, sounds like it belongs in the current century. Afterlife is also instantly catchy enough that it’s almost certain to become a major radio hit, no small feat for a band that packed it in nearly a decade ago. Bush’s reunion, however, is no surprise – Rossdale told Beatweek back in 2008 that his solo project was originally intended to be a Bush reunion album. The new album for Bush entitled ‘Everything Always Now’ is due out in October. I will post the exact date once it’s been determined. The new single ‘Afterlife’ is playing now (or can be when you request the song) on local radio now… the official single release date is July 13th.

A big thank you to Gavin for mentioning my site during the video chat. Yes, I held onto the name, but more importantly I held on to the dream that Bush would come back. Watch the entire video here…. OSB gets mentioned after 19:19.

Last weekend I was at Disney’s Hollywood Studios for the Star Wars Weekend event. In the whole park I managed to find the one thing Bush related. Go figure. They have this store at the front of the park that sells celebrity autographs and memorabilia. All high dollar items. Amongst the selection there it was, a picture of Bush from Rolling Stone Magazine with a Gavin Rossdale autograph. It was priced at $200, which I think is outrageous to pay for anyone’s autograph. But that price was bottom end compared to most of the people in there. The really weird thing about the finding that is the majority of the musician autographs fell into one of two categories….. A: old time rock stars (rolling stones, beatles, michael jackson, etc.) all… from the 80’s or earlier… and B: the disney rock kids (zack efron, demi levato, etc.). There really was no in between. So, Gavin’s was a bit out of place.
