New Bush album due out October 2014

In the past week @BushOfficial has been gearing up for some major Bush news. It seems as though news correspondent Jesse Giddings of E! News has beat them to the punchline by posting this on his twitter Monday.

“I’m in the studio w/ @GavinRossdale today getting the very first listen to the new Bush album before it’s out in October. Plus he shares his best advice for this years Voice hopefuls and discusses working w/ his wife @GwenStefani”.

Couldn’t You Wait?

Nigel Pulsford hasn’t made many (if any) appearances in the public eye since his split with Bush in 2002. In 2013, however, he appeared in a documentary about the band Silkworm. I have known about this documentary since 2009 while it was still in production, but I was unaware that it finally came out last year. So, I’m a little sad that it’s taken me almost a year and a half to see.

The reason Nigel is in this movie is because during his Bush days he had to miss a number of shows on The Science of Thing tour. In his place Andy Cohen of Silkworm performed. In the movie Nigel share his thoughts and Andy gives his take on the situation. Even Steve Albini speaks on how things all came about.

Back in 2009, I was contacted to help track down some live footage of a Bush show that featured Andy. This wasn’t easy considering he was at less than 10 shows and not every show gets filmed. After almost 2 years, success. The footage made it into the movie and I even managed to get a shout out in the credits under special thanks.

Puttnam Plays Puttnam

Sacha Puttnam is making waves these days with the release of his new album ‘Puttnam Plays Puttnam’. Released on the 15 July 2014 his “Solo Album debuts at no.5 in the classical chart.”- according to SachaPuttnam.com.

The new album is available on Amazon.com.

And if you happen to be in Dublin, Ireland next month you can catch him performing live with his father Lord David Puttnam. The will both be playing with the RTE Concert Orchestra at the National Concert Hall on September 13th

Album Cover In Progress

Early this year Bush had been in the studio working on new music. Another album is just around the corner. Yesterday Gavin Rossdale tweeted this teaser:

“Loving my London
How is everyone ?

Just been going through options for the cover

Sooo on our way to you x”

The new album may be closer than we think. This makes me wonder.. what new songs are in store? Will they be resurrecting and of the unused songs from The Sea of Memories? These tracks didn’t make the album, maybe this time around:

Beat of Your Heart
Whatever
River Runs Deep
Happy Families
Heroes Never Die
Kisses in the Rain
Lost in You (which has been around since Wanderlust and co-written with Dave Stewart)
Mountains
Please God Give Us Stronger

What about the two newer songs they band performed at some of their live shows last year? Will those make they cut

Loneliness is a Killer
This House is on Fire
