The Game of Their Lives, the movie, featuring Gavin Rossdale as ‘Stanley Mortensen’ was released Friday April 22, but only in selected theaters. The movie’s website list all the theater locations. I wish it was playing in more theaters, I’d have to drive 8 hours to go to a theater that’s playing the movie! How wrong is that?!!

For those who need a Nigel fix, Nigel along with many other artist (including his sister Jan) is a featured artist appearing on The Project cd. ‘Love & Laughter’ is his personal favorite, so check that one out too. What’s Nigel up too? He’s producing these day..that’s about all I could manage for now.

I caught Gavin on Last Call w/ Carson Daly and he did confirm the lastest ‘Institute’ news. He said that ‘Institute’ will be releasing an album in July & will also be going on tour (a timeframe was not given, I don’t believe anything has been established as of yet). Also, Gavin stated that one of the ‘Institute’ members is former Bush replacement Chris Traynor.

Bush’s Gavin Rossdale is moving forward with his music career, wrapping up a new album under the moniker Institute. Gavin, who also has his first meaty film role in Constantine, which opens Friday, says resting on his laurels was never an option. ‘I’ve been able to feed myself these past two years, but at the same time it hasn’t satisfied the creative impulses I’ve had,’ says Gavin. ‘I don’t think my ambition was dimmed by the fact that I knew that I had sandwiches for life.’ The disc finds Rossdale working with Helmet’s Page Hamilton, and the vocalist said he expects the normal themes of the human condition to populate the release. The album is due in July.
So there you have it, new music from Gavin .this year. I have to say, I’m just not as excited about this album than if it were a new Bush album. There’s a void.
Constantine is out!! The latest reviews are only dishing out a measily C+ at Yahoo!, none the less it’s worth seeing Gavin delivering the goods. Also, the Gavin hoopla is being spread to the tv airways. Last Wednesday Gav appeared on Conan. So if ya missed it.. too bad. For those of you who have been awaiting the release of ‘Remasterpiece’ the time has almost come. Sacha’s lastest album has been pushed back so many times I was beginning to wonder if it would ever be released. You can pre-order you copy now at Amazon. The newest release date is set for February 28.
Some Gavin movie news, ‘Little Black Book’ is now out on video & dvd..I thought it was crap, but I was impressed at how lengthy Gavin’s part was (good job Gav). I also heard a rumor that Gavin was in the background in the movie ‘Wimbledon’, but I didn’t see him. Maybe I was paying too much attention what was actually going on in the movie. Last.. but not least, ‘Constantine’ is FINALLY here. If you can happen to catch E! News Weekend this weekend, they were showing clips for the upcoming release. They even showcased a bit of Gavin. That’s due out on Feburary 18. so don’t miss it.. his part looks awesome.
